Oscar Wilde's full name is Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde, Wilde was born on the 16th of October 1854 in Dublin and died on the 30th of November 1900 in Paris(the capital city of France).
Oscar Wilde is a famous Novelist, poet, Journalist and Playwright.

Oscar Wilde was imprisoned for being gay in Reading Prison from 1895 to 1897 because it was sadly illegal to be gay in those days.
Oscar Wilde was sentenced to two years, hard labour for being gay although the court called it gross indecency with another man.
2 years was the maximum sentence for gross indecency. Wilde was imprisoned in Reading prison .
