Fact 187: What is the difference between a tapestry and an embroidery?

The difference between a tapestry and an embroidery is that basically a tapestry is created by weaving threads together that are stretched out on a loom with horizontal colourful threads woven into the plain vertical hanging threads to create a pattern, and embroidery is where people have stitched (sewn) with (usually) woollen thread into a background fabric (like a linen cloth).
