Fact 264: Why do Bloodhounds have long ears?

Bloodhounds have long ears to concentrate and target like a cone the scent in the air and on the ground near the dog's face and nose which helps the bloodhound smell for the sent they are following rather than smelling lots of different things which would make it harder for the bloodhound to follow a sent trail.
