Fact 185: What is the difference between a star and a sun and is there a difference?

The answer is yes there is a difference between a star and a sun because every Sun is a star, but not every star is a Sun. Basically a star is only called a Sun if it is located at the centre of a planetary system so basically every sun is classified as a star but a star won't always be classified as a sun unless planets orbit the star and then it will be classified as a sun.
