Fact 159: what did Fredric John Baur create?

Fredric John Baur created Pringles, the pringles packaging, taste and design and the shape of pringles,  the shape of a pringle is a hyperbolic paraboloid.

The tube was chosen for the packaging because you get more than if it was in a packet and less air is needed and the hyperbolic paraboloid, (the shape) was chosen because it is ideal for stacking and doesn't break in a tube.

The first stage of the pringles development process started in 1975 (it took seven years to create the product). In, 1968 Pringles premiered in Evansville, (Indiana U.S.A).
